Description

Libellula Blanc belongs to a small yet expressive family of cuvées whose name recalls the lightness and elegance of the dragonfly. For the winemaker, this symbol represents both the biodiversity preserved in her vineyards and the deep connection with the nature reserves surrounding Remerschen. Thus, “Libellula” reflects the winery’s commitment to nature and its ecological environment. The range also includes a rosé and a red wine. While Libellula Rouge is now made entirely from Pinot Noir, the composition of the Blanc and Rosé changes each year, with Cabernet Blanc remaining constant. The current blend is 50% Pinot Gris, 40% Cabernet Blanc, and a small portion of Riesling. Pinot Gris contributes roundness and body, Cabernet Blanc its spicy aromatic precision, and Riesling brings refreshing acidity. The Libellula Blanc is layered, balanced, and versatile — dry in impression, fresh in style, and harmonious on the palate. Elegantly structured, it excels both on its own and with food.

Sommelier Review

Libellula Blanc 2024 presents a medium straw yellow colour and a quietly expressive nose of pear quince and dried hay. On the palate it is dry light to medium bodied and driven by lively acidity which sharpens the cool orchard fruit and keeps the wine beautifully refreshing. The short clean finish and modest weight make this cuvée a versatile partner for mild goat cheese delicate seafood antipasti and plant based dishes where finesse is more important than power.

About Libellula - Blanc

Libellula Blanc is part of a cuvée family symbolizing lightness and an ecological connection to nature. Pinot Gris provides texture and volume, Cabernet Blanc adds aromatic precision, and Riesling brings freshness and finesse. This composition creates a structured yet accessible wine that feels dry and well-balanced thanks to its lively acidity. The Libellula Blanc reveals harmonious layers of spice, fruit, and a subtle floral note. Refined and versatile, it pairs beautifully with food or shines on its own, expressing the grace and equilibrium that define its origin.
