Grande Cuvée - Crémant de Luxembourg
Domaine Kohll-Leuck - AOP L-01383
Description
The Grande Cuvée Brut from Domaine Kohll-Leuck is a Crémant that impresses with patience, precision, and a refined sense of balance. Its foundation is built on grapes from carefully selected low-yield parcels, whose high concentration and quality form the basis for this top-tier sparkling wine. After traditional bottle fermentation, the Crémant matures for at least 60 months on the lees—a remarkably long time that creates its fine, persistent bubbles and pronounced creaminess. This extended maturation imparts a silky texture, harmonious depth, and characteristic nobility reminiscent of Champagne. The composition combines 45% Pinot Blanc, 35% Auxerrois, 11% Riesling, and 9% Pinot Gris—four grape varieties that complement one another. Pinot Blanc provides structure, Auxerrois adds richness and elegance, Riesling brings freshness and tension, while Pinot Gris contributes subtle ripe fruit aromas. About 30% of the base wine is aged in barrique, lending delicate hints of vanilla, brioche, and toasted almonds without allowing the wood to dominate. With a residual sugar level of 6–7 g/l, the Grande Cuvée presents itself as a finely balanced Brut—dry, yet polished, with a soft mousse. It shines equally as an elegant aperitif or as a refined companion to oysters, fish, or shellfish. In the glass, it reveals delicate, persistent bubbles, a pale golden color, and a fragrant bouquet of white flowers, stone fruits, and subtle vanilla. On the palate, it flows with creamy elegance, carried by freshness, minerality, and understated complexity. A Crémant that unites patience and craftsmanship to perfection—precise, balanced, and timelessly elegant.
